Marmorino is a matte, stone-like lime plaster that is naturally durable, washable, and mold-resistant — making it an excellent choice for Miami kitchens. Unlike paint, Marmorino doesn’t peel or fade. Unlike tile, it has no grout lines to clean or stain. It creates a seamless, sophisticated surface that’s easy to maintain and beautiful to live with.
In Miami’s humid climate, kitchens face steam, cooking oils, splashes, and heat. Most finishes struggle. Marmorino performs differently — because it’s mineral-based, breathable, and sealed with a washable finish.
Exotic Wall Finishes has been applying Marmorino in Miami since 2015. Our founder, Gian Carlo Sagasti, was a model for Marmorino Tools Worldwide and is a Novacolor Global Ambassador (2017). He has been working with Marmorino since 2003.
Kitchens are one of the toughest rooms in the home for any finish. Steam, oil, food splashes, heat, and constant cleaning put finishes to the test. Marmorino performs where paint and wallpaper fail.
Marmorino is naturally water-resistant. With a breathable waterproof sealer, it becomes highly resistant to moisture and steam. In wet areas like behind the range and near the sink, the sealer provides additional protection.
Marmorino can be gently cleaned with a damp cloth and mild soap. Unlike paint, which can scuff, peel, or stain, Marmorino’s mineral surface resists everyday kitchen mess.
Lime is alkaline (pH 12–13), which prevents mold and mildew growth. In kitchens, where humidity and steam are common, this is a significant advantage.
Marmorino is harder and more durable than paint. It resists scratches, stains, and impact. With proper care, it lasts 20+ years.
Unlike tile, Marmorino has no grout lines. There are no porous joints where grease, food, or bacteria can accumulate. The surface is seamless and hygienic.
Marmorino’s matte finish is a natural fit for Miami kitchens — from Mediterranean Revival homes in Coral Gables to modern condos in Brickell and coastal residences in Miami Beach.

We’ve been applying Marmorino in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties since 2015.
Every kitchen project begins with a site visit. We assess:
We apply 2 to 3 base coats of lime putty. Each coat is troweled on thinly and allowed to cure.
We apply 2 to 3 thin layers of pigmented Marmorino. Each layer is troweled to create the desired texture — smooth, lightly textured, or deeply troweled.
Once cured, we apply a breathable waterproof sealer. This provides washability and moisture protection while maintaining breathability.
We walk the project with the client, review the finish under kitchen lighting, and provide written care instructions.
