Venetian Plaster in Coconut Grove — Historic Elegance

Coconut Grove is Miami’s oldest continuously inhabited neighborhood — known for its historic homes, lush tropical landscaping, bohemian character, and bayfront properties. Venetian plaster is a natural fit for the Grove’s Mediterranean Revival villas and historic residences. It adds Old World elegance while providing the durability needed in Miami’s humid climate.

For homeowners in Coconut Grove, Venetian plaster offers something rare: a finish that feels both historically appropriate and thoroughly modern. It respects the character of older homes while delivering a level of polish and sophistication that paint cannot match.

Exotic Wall Finishes has been applying Venetian plaster in Coconut Grove since 2015. Our founder, Gian Carlo Sagasti, is a Novacolor Global Ambassador (2017) and has been working with Italian lime plasters since 2003.

Why Venetian Plaster Works in Coconut Grove

Historic Compatibility

Coconut Grove’s historic homes — many dating to the 1920s and earlier — are ideal for Venetian plaster. The finish complements the area’s Mediterranean and rustic architecture and is the historically appropriate choice for renovations.

Humidity Resistance

Coconut Grove’s lush landscaping and proximity to Biscayne Bay mean higher humidity. Venetian plaster is breathable and mold-resistant — ideal for this environment.

Timeless Aesthetic

Coconut Grove homeowners value craftsmanship and timeless design. Venetian plaster delivers both. It’s a finish that reads as elegant today and will continue to in 20 years.

Seamless Finish

No seams, no grout lines, no wallpaper edges. Venetian plaster creates a continuous surface that works beautifully in older homes where wall surfaces are imperfect.
